Como la primera en su familia en graduarse de la universidad, obtuvo sus títulos en Educación Elemental y TESOL en St. John’s University. Ha dedicado su carrera a empoderar a estudiantes y familias, desde trabajar con jóvenes en riesgo en programas de educación superior hasta la enseñanza, y ahora como la primera Enlace para Padres del Distrito Escolar de Westbury.

An educator, wife, and mother, Patricia was born in Queens, NY, to an Ecuadorian mother and Irish father, embracing both cultures proudly.
As the first in her family to graduate college, she earned her degrees from St. John’s University in Elementary Ed & TESOL. She’s dedicated her career to empowering students and families—from working with at-risk youth in higher ed programs to teaching and now serving as Westbury School District’s first Parent Liaison.

Helping new families feel welcomed and supported is her passion.

HAP at the 2024 NASID Conference- NOV 18-20 VA: During this event organized by Responsibility.org and the National Alliance to Stop Impaired Driving (NASID), the Hispanic Alliance for Prevention Coalition joined the nation’s leading traffic safety experts, partners, and stakeholders to examine the ongoing challenges and complexities of multiple substance-impaired driving.

For three days, we engaged in robust discussions, working towards effective solutions to address multiple substance-impaired driving, improve data collection for DUI incidents, and enhance training for DUI detection. We also learned about drug trends involving new and emerging substances, drug toxicology in the DUI system, and how to address these issues through advocacy. Additionally, we explored new technology to prevent impaired driving.

Tonight HAP Coordinator, participated in an activity organized by MADD in Washington DC to light up the night with 10,000 candles symbolizing the lives lost due to drunk driving but also the hope of saving the same number of lives annually with the use of anti-drunk driving technology in new vehicles. Every 78 seconds, someone in the U.S. is killed or injured by a drunk driver. Drunk driving deaths are up 33% since 2019. 56% of drivers involved in serious injury and fatal crashes tested positive for at least one drug, including alcohol. more info: https://madd.org
